- We're using Chameleon TCP/IP 4.0 for Windows for PPP dial-in
- and TN5250. The dial-in is much more stable compared to version
- 3.11 and we're still evaluating the TN5250.

- Subject: Wintalk, WinQVT Conflicts
-
-
-
- Has anyone experience system hang ups as well as system crashes when
- using WinTalk and WinQvt/Net 3.96?...The GPF message comes up more
- often when I load WinTalk before WinQVT/Net but still occur the other
- way around.
-
- ANother problem I have experienced when using WinTalk is when I get
- the message "your party is not logged on"....in this case the system just
- hangs up and the other way to quit WinTalk is through ctrl-alt-del. Sometimes
- that doesn't even work. Additional problems arise when using the Ntalk
- choice. Ocassionally two screens appear and the system hangs up.
-
- Are these common problems or do I have something set up wrong?
-
- Thanks.

-
- Has anyone been able to get WinTalk V1.0a to work? I can not establish a

- perfect with the current setup except wintalk. If I try to establish a

-
- I have tried both talk versions included with wintalk. Anyone have any

- WINARCH can be invoked with the command line parameter -archie=archie.host
- For example: "winarch -archie=archie.ans.net" (for people in the Eastern US).
- It defaults to ARCHIE.AU (currently plaza.aarnet.au). The TARGET refers to
- the actual TARGET program/file that you are searching for, and SUFFIX refers
- to the domain suffix that you want the search restricted to. Eg. "AU" or
- "EDU" or something more specific like "UTAS.EDU.AU"

- I saw the solution posted a while ago and it works for me.
-
- If you go to file > properties for the winarch icon and add on the command
- line winarch.exe -archie=<your.archie.server>
-
- when you click on the program icon it automatically connects to the archie
- server. Works great!

-

-
- Known archie servers:
- archie.ans.net (USA [NY])
